Incidental Take Permit Application

April 19, 2024

DWR applied to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) for an Incidental Take Permit (ITP) under Section 2081 of the California Endangered Species Act (CESA) on April 9, 2024. As CDFW reviews the information in the ITP application, it is expected that DWR will add supplemental materials to update the administrative record and will post periodic updates to the ITP application to reflect this supplemental material. The application is a document to initiate formal consultation under CESA, which does not incorporate a public review component.

State Water Board Issues Notice Regarding Change in Point of Diversion Petition

The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) has issued a public notice regarding the Delta Conveyance Project Change in Point of Diversion (CPOD) Petition, which was submitted by the Department of Water Resources (DWR) to the State Water Board on February 22, 2024. This notice acknowledges receipt of the change petition and details the process to submit a protest against the petition.

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) has submitted a Change in Point of Diversion Petition for the Delta Conveyance Project to the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board). The State Water Board will now review the petition for accuracy and completeness and then issue a public notice detailing their public review process.

DWR Approves Delta Conveyance Project

December 21, 2023

The Department of Water Resources today approved the Delta Conveyance Project, certifying the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and completing an extensive environmental review. DWR selected the “Bethany Reservoir Alignment” for further engineering, design and permitting.

Final Environmental Impact Report

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) is today releasing the Final Environmental Impact Report to public agencies that commented on the Draft EIR, per the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
